A Sunlit Celebration at Orangeriet in the King’s Garden

Sofie & Nils

It was a beautiful autumn day in Copenhagen — the kind where the sun shines softly, and the air feels calm and golden. I arrived at the church ready to capture Sofie and Nils’s special day.

I first met Sofie four years ago when I photographed her sister’s wedding in 2021 — a day I still remember vividly. So when I began seeing familiar faces arriving, it felt like reconnecting with old friends.

The church itself was stunning — spacious, filled with light, and full of quiet anticipation. Sunlight streamed through the windows as guests began to gather. Nils arrived in great spirits, accompanied by his two daughters, while Sofie soon followed, radiant in a dress that perfectly complemented the venue’s warm tones. The ceremony was heartfelt and full of joy as they exchanged rings and said I do.

Afterward, it was time to celebrate — and what better way than with a boat tour through Copenhagen’s canals? Just a short walk from the church, everyone boarded the boat, enjoying champagne, cake, and city views. As we passed some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, the atmosphere was light and full of laughter. During portraits, I half-joked that they could have convinced me to recreate the Titanic scene — it was that perfect.

Once the boat docked, guests made their way to Orangeriet in the King’s Garden. The setting couldn’t have been more magical — the trees glowing golden and amber, the sun sitting a little lower in the sky, casting that perfect autumn light.

The portrait session was so much fun! Sofie’s two sisters joined in, bringing infectious energy — fluffing the dress, perfecting details, and even referencing the Pinterest mood board they’d prepared in advance. It truly felt like a team effort, and by the end, my cheeks hurt from laughing so much.

Sofie and Nils ended the evening surrounded by their loved ones, celebrating over dinner, conversation, and laughter — a perfect ending to a perfect autumn day.
