A Sunny Day in Fredriksberg.
Adelina & Thomas
Adelina and Thomas’s wedding day began in their charming Frederiksberg apartment on a beautiful sunny morning. It happened to be Copenhagen Pride, and for the fourth year in a row, the sun made its grand appearance — as if it had been personally invited.
Adelina spent the morning surrounded by her closest family and friends, while Thomas got ready across town at his brother’s apartment with his groomsmen. I started the day photographing all the little details — beginning with Adelina’s dress, which couldn’t have matched the apartment’s soft tones and elegant atmosphere more perfectly. Light poured in from every direction, creating the dreamiest conditions for flat lays and prep shots.
As Adelina finished her makeup, I borrowed Thomas’s bicycle to make my way to his brother’s apartment — road closures left me no choice. I’ll never forget that ride; I’ve never felt quite at ease cycling through Copenhagen, and with my short legs barely reaching the pedals, it was quite the adventure. What should’ve been a 15-minute ride turned into nearly 30 — made even more memorable by the fact that I’d chosen to wear a light wool blazer on one of the hottest days of the year. You can imagine how I looked when I finally arrived!
Luckily, there was plenty of time to capture the guys as they put the finishing touches on their outfits. Thomas looked incredibly sharp in his black tuxedo. Once done, I made my way back across town to the church, which was only a couple of minutes from Adelina and Thomas’s apartment.
Their ceremony was heartfelt and full of emotion. After exchanging rings and saying I do, the couple drove off in a vintage Fiat — the perfect choice for the sunny weather — and we headed to Frederiksberg Gardens for portraits. I’ve photographed this location five times already this summer, yet each time feels unique. This day was no exception — there was a special kind of energy in the air. Adelina and Thomas were relaxed, joyful, and completely in the moment, which always makes for the most genuine photographs.
The night ended just as you’d hope: with laughter, fun, and a few happy tears. A wedding to remember — and one I’ll never forget.
