Love Across Continents: A Copenhagen City Hall Wedding

Rachel & Phyllis

It was a perfect sunny day in Copenhagen when Rachel and Phyllis, who had travelled all the way from Hong Kong, tied the knot at Copenhagen City Hall. They were surrounded by a small circle of their closest friends, making the day feel beautifully intimate.

Believe it or not, this was actually my first city hall wedding. I had no idea what to expect, so I prepared a moodboard in advance. But as it turned out, the hall was closed for photography that weekend. With a little flexibility and a lot of excitement, we quickly came up with a new plan.

From the city hall, we wandered through the streets of Copenhagen, stopping at Christiansborg Palace before making our way to the canal. There, Rachel and Phyllis boarded a boat with their loved ones and set off to explore the city from the water—such a magical way to celebrate.

Earlier in the day, we shared some quiet moments at Villa Copenhagen, a location I know well and love capturing. Photographing Rachel and Phyllis was effortless—their energy, laughter, and humor shone through, giving me the most natural and joyful images.
