A Rain-Kissed Celebration at Rushton Hall
Lucy & Ben
Lucy and Ben celebrated their beautiful wedding day at the breathtaking Rushton Hall—a magnificent Grade I listed country house nestled in 25 acres of perfectly manicured grounds in Kettering. With its rich 16th-century architecture and timeless charm, the venue offered an effortlessly elegant backdrop for their special day.
As a photographer who loves capturing the finer details, I was instantly inspired the moment I arrived. There was something magical in the air—an unhurried calm that set the tone for the morning. Lucy was surrounded by her closest friends and family, the atmosphere warm and relaxed, even as the unpredictable English weather played its part and stirred a few nerves.
I moved between Lucy and Ben throughout the morning—she was getting ready in one of the most exquisite historic bedrooms, while Ben prepped in the classic snooker room, which added its own charm to the story.
Their ceremony was set in a light-filled room framed by tall, grand windows—an absolute dream for any photographer. After a joyful confetti moment, the skies opened up and everyone rushed inside to escape a sudden downpour. It may have rained, but spirits remained high.
In between showers, we made the most of every dry moment in the gardens for portraits—darting back inside as soon as the rain returned. Then, as the day unfolded and the champagne flowed, something magical happened. Lucy ran barefoot into the garden, completely carefree, embracing the rain and the joy of the moment. It was spontaneous, beautiful, and totally her.
Those candid, joy-filled moments—unposed and real—are the ones I’ll never forget. The kind of images that tell the realstory of the day
