Cannon Echoes & Castle Romance
Darya & Jonas
The 2026 wedding season began in the most enchanting way imaginable — within the storied walls of Kronborg Castle. This castle has long held a special place in my heart; it’s somewhere I often wander with my family, returning time and time again to admire its grandeur and timeless beauty. As I’ve roamed through its magnificent halls and history-soaked chambers, I’ve often found myself imagining what a wedding here would feel like — the romance of the staircases, the elegance of the grounds, and the endless beauty woven into every corner. So when Darya and Jonas reached out about photographing their wedding at the castle, I was instantly filled with excitement.
Although the day itself was brief, every moment felt unforgettable. I joined the couple for their ceremony in the breathtaking castle church — a space so beautiful it almost feels otherworldly. After the vows were exchanged, guests were led outside to the cannons, where three ceremonial shots rang through the air. It was one of those rare moments that lingers long after it has passed — powerful, emotional, and utterly unforgettable. I felt deeply honoured to capture such an extraordinary experience.
Following the ceremony, guests descended into the castle’s atmospheric basement for the reception, while I wandered the grounds with Darya and Jonas to create their portraits. Surrounded by centuries of history, we focused on imagery that felt classic, romantic, and timeless — photographs that could belong to another era entirely. As the evening light softened and time quietly slipped away, my time there came to an end. Yet I could have spent endless hours photographing them; every corridor, every stone wall, every hidden corner of the castle offered new inspiration. The possibilities felt infinite
